What Comes After Gen Z? Generation Alpha Explained

After Gen Z comes Generation Alpha (born about 2013–2024/25), then Generation Beta. Their years, why they’re called Alpha, and what makes them different.

Gen Z Generations – side hustles start with zero

TL;DR: Generation Alpha comes after Gen Z. They were born roughly 2013–2024/25 (some researchers start at 2010) and are about 1–13 years old in 2026. After Gen Alpha comes Generation Beta, born from about 2025.

Why “Alpha”?

Researcher Mark McCrindle popularised the name. With the Latin alphabet used up after Z, the naming restarted with the first letter of the Greek alphabet.

What shapes Gen Alpha

  • Tablets and touchscreens from toddlerhood
  • Voice assistants and AI tutors
  • YouTube Kids, Roblox and Minecraft as social spaces
  • Mostly Millennial parents
